Course Description
Object-oriented analysis and design concepts. Features and problems of complex systems. Foundations and elements of the object-oriented models. Classes, objects and their relationships. Use cases and their relationships. Behavioral modeling. Architecture modeling. CASE tools. The Unified Process.
Course Objectives
Upon finishing this course, the students should be able to:
- Analyze a problem using an Object-Oriented approach (B).
- Design and evaluate a given system or process to meet desired needs (C)
- Use current Object Oriented techniques and skills for systems analysis and design (I).
- Use current tools for Object Oriented analysis and design (I)
- Identify and analyze user needs and take them into account in the creation and evaluation of software systems (K).
Course Requirements and Grading

- Attendance is required.
- It is your responsibility to get the course notes, handouts, and case studies handout should you miss class or be late
- There will be mid-term examination and final examination. NO re-sit exams will be allowed for those who do not attend the exam unless they are able to produce valid medical certificate.Failure to notify the instructor within 3 days after the exams will result in failure.
- The students have to make sure that they submit the works on or before the dateline. Late submission for assignments or project will not be accepted.
- The final grade of “Fail” will be given for any assignment or exam where plagiarism (“cut-and-paste”) or cheating has occurred.

- Check the course material on blackboard. Changes will be posted there. You are expected to be current on all matters pertaining to the blackboard.
